Micro-needling
So you have heard about Micro-needling (can be also known as skin needling or Collagen-induced therapy) but have no idea what it is or what to expect? Read on to find out how this amazing treatment can benefit your skin!

Micro-needling is the process of introducing thousands of micro punctures into the skin through very fine needles causing controlled trauma to the skin, this damage encourages the body to stimulate the skins natural wound healing response and promote healthy cell regrowth. This may sound counter-intuitive and scary but there is science behind it!

As the skin repairs, it produces new collagen and elastin (two proteins predominantly responsible for the structure of the skin) which generates new skin cells to aid the repair of the skin which then becomes thicker, plumper and more youthful.

This treatment can help with the appearance of fine lines, stretch marks, skin laxity, and scarring which also includes acne scarring and is a fantastic treatment for this condition.

Mesotherapy facials
What is Mesotherapy Facial?

Mesotherapy is a technique of using injections of vitamins, enzymes, hormones and plant extracts to rejuvenate, tighten and improve skin imperfections.

It was originally developed in France by Michel Pistor, a doctor in 1952 to relieve pain by injecting medicine directly into fat located under the skin, and in the years since has gained popularity in the United States and further afield in the rest of the world for a number of treatments.

Mesotherapy is now used to treat a wide range of conditions, but in this article, we will be focusing on its use for skin rejuvenation. A Needle is used to inject a cocktail of essential vitamins, enzymes, hormones and plant extracts directly into the skin and provide everything healthy skin needs!

Mesotherapy along with healthy habits is a fantastic way of improving your skin health and prevent the signs of skin ailments including:

- Skin Rejuvenation
- Skin Laxity
- Tighten loose skin
- Dark circles beneath the eyes
- Help lighten pigmented skin
- Reduce acne
- Help reduce the appearance of stretch marks
- Stimulate hair growth on receding hairlines

Wait, did you say injections?

Yes, needles are used in these treatments, but don’t panic! It’s not your typical injections into the arm that you associate to trips to the doctors! There are a number of different needling techniques used but all of them only apply superficial injections to the surface of the skin to allow the absorption of the compound directly into the skin.

What are the benefits of Mesotherapy?

There are numerous benefits to having a Mesotherapy facial, through the process of introducing a cocktail of the perfect nutrients and enzymes into the skin's epidermis (middle layer of skin) you can expect results immediately with improvement to dull, tired looking skin and superficial wrinkles.

By following a course of treatments recommended by your therapist can help improve and treat pigmentation problems, reduce acne scarring and be combined with other treatments to enhance the recovery of the skin and restore its radiance.

Is mesotherapy good for pigmentation?

Mesotherapy can be used to help reduce pigmentation of the skin such as age spots, sun spots and a trained Aesthetician will be able to recommend the correct products and procedures to give the best results.

I’ve heard it can help stimulate hair growth?

This is a relatively new area of mesotherapy treatment, through the process of microinjections into the scalp can help improve hair production from the follicle.

By increasing the stimulation of blood flow around the follicle and providing essential nutrients, it can help encourage stronger and denser hair growth.

This is an ongoing treatment procedure and multiple treatment sessions are required to get to the hair growth stage. Ongoing maintenance treatments will be necessary and can prove costly and take time but as a non-invasive treatment with no downtime, it may be worth considering if a receding hairline is a problem for you.

Are mesotherapy results permanent?

Results from mesotherapy can sometimes be immediate. However, like all treatments a course of 3 to 6 treatments every two weeks will give the optimum effect. Taking care of your skin at home with a good skin care routine will help to keep the effects of the treatments for longer. But skin will continue to age, therefore it is recommended to have a maintenance treatment every few months to maintain the general health of your skin.

Many people from their early-thirties onwards suffer from premature ageing largely due to sun-damage and other lifestyle factors.

This sun damage often results in dull, rough skin, with enlarged pores and lines and wrinkles. Mottled skin tone and areas of abnormal pigmentation, along with vascular irregularities such as telangiectasias, are also common.

This Flawless Filter Facial treatment can address the aspects of premature ageing outlined above due to its ability to promote fibroblast activity, subtly restructure collagen within the skin, and to even out areas of uneven and mottled pigmentation and broken thread vessels.

In combination with a specially selected formulation of acids and enzymes, the Flawless Filter Facial treatment results in a fresher, flawless complexion, softer, smoother skin with a reduction in open pores and leaving a healthy glow.

DMK Enzyme Therapy
Restores skin to its peak condition

DMK is the only company in the world to utilise the beneficial effects of transfer messenger enzymes. Enzymes are living substances that regulate health and work with certain minerals in the body to form a natural system of antioxidants that fight corrosive free radicals. Properly formulated, they can remove dead protein, toxins and other effluvia from the epidermis using a process called ‘reverse osmosis’.

While some cosmetic facial treatments may only act on the skin's surface, DMK Enzyme Treatments work within the skin. The enzymes aim to strengthen the structural integrity of the skin to create a healthy environment for cells to live and thrive. Enzyme Therapy exercises facial muscles and works to leave the skin feeling firm.

The only treatment in the world to produce the ‘plasmatic effect’ on the skin. The true oxygenating facial, where you can see the blood travelling to the skin's surface and pumping more blood, nutrients and oxygen into the skin!
